INDEPENDENCE

From the earliest ages, Montessori students are encouraged to become independent and responsible within a community. From daily tasks to benefit the classroom to choosing which work to begin their 2-hour block of sustained focus, students have the opportunity to take charge of their individual experience and become helpful citizens.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

A Montessori education surpasses other modes of education in providing students intrinsic motivation, executive functioning skills, and social skills that lead to higher academic achievement, according to research. According to a recent study from Cornell University, “Montessori students were, on average, a full school year ahead by sixth grade.”

A meta-analysis of multiple studies also concluded, “Montessori method has ‘strong and clear’ impact on student performance. Students make positive math, literacy, academic ability and executive function gains in particular.”
